UPDATE from Fri, Jan 23rd:  Due to the last 2 weeks of no services, the deadline for Icon Bids have been extended to Sun, Feb 1st. Icons will be availabe to be picked up on Sun, Feb 8th. They still should be returned on Sun, March 1st for the first Sunday of Great Lent (The Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy). 

ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT from Jan 7th:

Once again we will engage in the annual secular ritual of the Konizmat Icon Auction.  His Grace, Bishop Nikodhim, is encouraging all of his Archdiocesan parishes to have "Icon Sunday."

From the time of Turkish occupation, through the years, even in America, this was a traditional and important fundraising method for those whose Church heritage is from the central Balkans.

"Bids" are to be submitted and will be collected beginning the weekend of Jan 11th, and continue through Sunday, Jan 25th.  The icons will be assigned - based on the highest and/or earliest received bid.  Icons will be available to take home the following weekend, Sunday Feb 1st.

Icons are to be returned back to church on Sunday, March 1st (Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy - the 1st Sunday of Great Lent).
