St. George committed with other Trumbull faith-based churches, communities, and organizations to participate in a coordinated food drive which is  supporting the Trumbull Food Pantry.  The drive was being organized by Refill the Pantry, and is the second food drive focused in Trumbull during the 2025 calendar year.  This 2nd food drive is winding up at the end of August.  

In July and August, St. George has been collecting pantry food items and collecting cash donations during our monthly Charity Tray collection to support the Trumbull Food Pantry.  These will be turned over to Refill the Pantry at the end of August.

Additionally as part of the Refill the Pantry program, we wish to acknowledge and thank 5 parishioners: Laura Chadwick, Laura Coughlin, Sue Galich, Cathy Hotova, and Kim O’Brien who volunteered at the Trumbull Stop & Shop on August 16th for an hour each, to hand out slips to shoppers of needed pantry items, and to collect cash donations for the Trumbull Food Pantry.  This day was organized and is part of the Refill the Pantry program. Laura Chadwick, Cathy Hotova, and Kim O’Brien volunteered to man the west entrance (closest to Church Hill Rd) from 9 to 10AM,  and Laura Coughlin and Sue Galich manned the east entrance (closest to Main St) from noon to 1PM.  Our volunteers commented that the grocery traffic was very healthy and the shoppers were generous. 

We will update the results of this food drive in a few weeks once we receive the final numbers.
